Project
For this project my group and I were tasked with choosing an item to deconstruct, research, find out how it works, and make it better in some way. Cais, Henry, Shane and I chose to deconstruct a butane lighter and improve it. I was the one who deconstructed the lighter and did all of the physical work on the lighter. I was able to discover that it had a limiter on the rate of fuel release and therefor the size of the flame. We decided to try and change the color of the flame and remove the limiter to max out the height of the flame. After trying many ways to change the color of the flame and non of them worked, we decided to focus on the flame size.

Reflection
This project went well but it had its ups and downs as everything does. Our first idea of changing the flame color with different chemicals and metals wasn't possible with the materials we had on hand. Luckily we had already discussed focusing on making the flame larger. It was also difficult when some teammates didn't contribute as much as other but we were able to pick up we were able to pick up the slack and and produce a working final product.
