Background
For this project our group was assigned with the task of learning how to create 3D designs in Autodesk Fusion 360 software. The way we were supposed to do this was by creating a 3D rendering of a helmet having to do with our project from scratch. Because our project is building an electric go kart that will mostly be used at race tracks that require helmets this fit our capstone project very well. Our group decided to create a visorless helmet with a carbon fiber shell to help reduce weight and improve the structure.

Reflection
This project was especially challenging for my group and I. This was in part do to not having any prior knowledge of how to use 3D software unlike other groups. after much trial and error I was able to complete a passable helmet design but I can't say that the process wasn't very frustrating and difficult. After having completed the helmet design I am happy with how it came out and want to experiment more with building 3D renderings. Another reason this project and this semester has been hard for our group is because as seniors we are all tending to not put in our full effort (some more than others). This leads to incomplete and sub par work by our group. It also leads to some having to take more responsibility for aspects of the work. Overall I believe that this was an interesting stepping stone towards our final goal of a complete capstone project. This might not help many of the group and I believe our time could have been better spent actually working on our final project as opposed to trying to save our grades by completing tasks that don't have much to do with most groups capstone projects.
