Solve a world problem
For this project we were tasked with solving a world problem. my group decided to do the problem of tangled earbuds, it isn't the biggest of problem like world hunger or poverty but its the one that we chose to fix. At first we just researched and tried to find others solutions or problem for earbuds. We found out that there were more problems with earbuds than we thought. We found research that proved that listening to headphones or earbuds that don't have noise cancellation can cause hearing loss. This happens because when you can hear outside noises it causes you to turn up the volume on your music to hear it better. We also found that thicker and stronger wires make it harder for them to get tangled. Our solution for all these problems was to make earbuds with thicker wires and noise cancellation, which we did by putting 18 gauge wire along side the earbud wires and wrapping them in heat shrink tubing.
Reflection
While doing this project we came up with an idea that was hard to execute in a real world model. In the end we had to cut apart a pair of apple earbuds just to get a section of modified wire. While doing this we also found some problems such as: the wire was to strong and didn't shape into what we wanted it to all be but we did accomplish what we set out to wile creating more worse problems. It was really fun brainstorming and hanging out with Joaquin, John, and Thomas but we did have problems with time management and staying on task.
